Hidden Art in Museums

Can art change our view? Is it the context that makes us recognize or overlook something? For years, I have been searching with my camera for things that look like works of art: scratches in the floor that look as if Klee had drawn them, color reflections on an elevator door that make you think of Mark Rothko or reflections in a dull window that look like photographs from the 19th century. I find them in museums and exhibition venues. 

The exhibition venue and the art object cannot always be precisely distinguished - sometimes the museum itself is the hidden work of art. The results of my photographic quest suggest that many elements of 20th century art actually pre-existed in similar forms and possibly may also unconsciously have inspired the artists.
